Poisonous to Miniature Horses

Toxic parts and chemical: all parts of
the dry and fresh plant are toxic

Symptoms of Poisoning: if very large
amounts are ingested the horse
experiences “chewing disease“
(nigropallidal encephalomalacia). The
toxin affects the brain, causing inability
to swallow, eat or drink, and will spit or
choke on food and water. Drowsiness,
unusual positions and behavior occur.
Death usually occurs.
